CDCI is now looking for Experts for an anticipated project to conduct a
Project Baseline Survey for the Small Holder Agriculture Development Project –
II in the Kingdom of Lesotho. The project development objective is to support
the increased adoption of climate smart agriculture technologies in Lesotho’s
agriculture, enhanced commercialization and improved dietary diversity among
targeted beneficiaries. The project has the following four components
> Component 1 Promoting Climate Smart Agricultural Practices and Advisory Services
> Component 2 Improving Agricultural Commercialization and Nutrition
> Component 3 Project Management, Coordination, Monitoring and Evaluation
> Component 4 Contingency Emergency Response Component
The objective of the assignment is to gather relevant quantitative and
qualitative information on variables related to the household economy in the
program area, and current technical, institutional, managerial and marketing
skills among smallholders, smallholder groups, agribusinesses, agro-processors
and dealers, service providers and relevant government institutions.
In terms of scope, and in order to develop baseline values for the program
output and outcome indicators, the baseline study will investigate and
identify the variables that would be needed to calculate the actual values of
the indicators listed in the Results Framework and the Logical Framework.
CDCI is looking for experts who meet the following competences
1. Team Leader*> S/he should possess a minimum of a master’s degree in the any of the following fields of expertise Agronomy; Agricultural Economics; Economics; Rural Development with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in leading teams in sectoral baseline surveys in rural area data analysis.
2. Statistician*> S/he should possess at least a Master’s Degree in statistics or Demography with at least 5 years’ experience in similar assignments.
3. Agricultural Expert*> S/he should possess at least a Degree in Agricultural Economics, Agronomy; Agronomy; Rural Development; and Nutrition with at least 5 years’ experience.
Additionally, all the candidates must demonstrate expertise in the following
1. Survey questionnaire design and field data collection
2. Multi-level data analysis and data collection
