### Job Description
Sir Harry Johnston International School is a respected international school in
Zomba, Malawi. It offers a complete education from pre-nursery to year 11. The
Secondary department will be expanding in September due to the opening of a
second boarding hostel.
The school is seeking to appoint the following members of staff
Two Boarding Supervisors – one male and one female
We are looking to appoint two Boarding Supervisors (with the minimum of a
teachers’ certificate) to supervise study periods and liaise with parents and
form tutors.
Outside of study periods, the male supervisor will be responsible for the
boys’ pastoral care and the female supervisor will be responsible for the
girls’ pastoral care.
Two House Parents (Non-teaching) – one male and one female
We are looking to appoint two enthusiastic and caring House Parents, who enjoy
looking after children and organising activities, such as sports and other
forms of recreation.
It is essential that all successful applicants can easily establish
relationships with secondary aged students as well as their parents/carers.
They will work in a team, be able to make decisions and take the initiative if
required. The successful applicants will be required to sleep in staff
accommodation on the days they are on duty and they will be on call in case
they are needed.
The posts are subject to child protection screening including checks with past
employers and a police clearance.
