*> The Christian Health Association of Malawi (CHAM) is an ecumenical umbrella
association co-owned by Episcopal Conference of Malawi and Malawi Council of
Churches. CHAM is the second largest provider of health services in Malawi and
it has 179 health facilities and 11 training colleges, which are located in
all parts of the country. Some of these health facilities are situated in
remote and hard-to-reach areas. The objectives of CHAM are to facilitate,
provide technical support, and develop health services among all its member
facilities in order to achieve equity in access to health care, patient care
and in all matters, to act for the benefit of the people of Malawi. CHAM
wishes to recruit qualified and suitable persons in the following positions
FINANCE OFFICER
Grade*> CM4
Department*> Finance and Administration
Reports to*> Finance Manager
Job Purpose*>
To take responsibility of assignments in finance data management, proposal and
budget development, external and internal audit, financial reporting,
liquidity management, budgeting, payroll preparation, banking and payments,
cash and fuel advances and fixed asset management.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
1. Liquidity management.
2. Creditor’s and debtor’s management.
3. Finance data management.
4. Budget preparation.
5. Fixed assets management.
6. Payroll preparation.
7. External and internal audit Preparing audit schedules; responding to audit queries during audits; Implementation of auditor’s recommendations.
8. CHAM Units financial management.
9. Financial Reporting
10. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
> Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy or Commerce from an accredited University
> Minimum 3 years working experience in accounting field
> Must be in good standing with their regulatory body
> Experience in NGO financial systems including Grants management
Requisite Knowledge, Abilities and Skills
> Good Planning and organizational skills
> Strategic thinker with a customer service focus
> Good computer skills especially in respect of accounting packages
> Good interpersonal and communication skills
> Self-motivated, dynamic and creative
> High level of integrity
> Ability to meet deadlines and follow up outstanding issues
> Good team player
> Ability to work under pressure
