### Job Description
Médecins Sans Frontières*> is a private, non-profit international
humanitarian organization dedicated to providing medical assistance to
populations in crisis, without discrimination and regardless of race,
religion, creed or political affiliation. In Malawi, MSF works in
collaboration with the Ministry of Health and the local community in
integrated HIV/AIDS in Chiradzulu District and Cervical Cancer projects
Blantyre districts.

Position TRANSCIBER*> – 1 POSITION

Main purpose of the position
In relation to the research study titled “Impact of COVID-19 on HIV and TB
patient care” transcribe qualitative interviews and group discussions in
Chichewa and translate to English. In total, around 36 in-depth interviews, of
approx. 60 minutes each and 4 group discussions of 60 – 90 minutes.

Main responsibilities
> Listen to audio-recorded interviews and group discussions in Chichewa and transcribe accurately and according to given guidelines
> Translate interviews from Chichewa to English accurately
> Ensure safe protection and confidentiality of audio-recordings and transcript documents as according to guidelines
> Consult with the Qualitative Researcher in clarify ambiguities, and assist in building glossaries
Requirements
> Education Secondary Education

Experience
Competencies Experience transcribing interviews for qualitative research.
Desirable Experience transcribing interviews among HIV patients and knowledge
of both medical, technical and popular glossaries in relation to HIV
> Possess good computer and information technology skills
> Professional and detail oriented
> Excellent typing skills
> Good listening Skills
> Ability to translate from Chichewa to English Proficiently
> Attention to detail with information and data accuracy
> Respect information confidentiality
> Deliver on deadlines
