AMG’s Client, an established Group in the freight forwarding and logistics
sector, and entering the Malawi market, seeks to engage a Country Manager. The
position is tenable in Lilongwe.
#### OVERALL JOB PURPOSE
• Manage and drive performance of all FAMS Malawi functions including sales,
operations & finance
• Strong focus on sales and customer development, through a global agency
network
• Coordinate implementation of FAMS Group strategic priorities in coordination
with FAMS senior stakeholders
• Lead the establishment and development of FAMS Malawi from start-up
#### MAIN TASKS & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Drive country performance in order to achieve country KPIs.
• Prepare arc manage the country business pier and annual budget together with
the county CFO.
• Lead. motivate and supervise the county organization.
• Identify and address development needs within the team to enable thorn to
roach their highest potential in alignment with Group development programs.
• Monitor quality standards within the business and ensure all safety,
compliance and legal Standards are understood by all the staff and agreed
standards are met.
• Act as the in-country escalation point for all operational, sales, financial
and other matters affecting the business.
• Actively participate in the forwarding, warehousing and logistics community
within the country and promote the FAMS business. accordingly.
#### QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES
• Degree level education or equivalent professional training and
certification.
• Good understanding of and minimum 10 years experience In South/East African
forwarding industry.
• Ability to understand and react to changing market conditions and leading to
proactive leadership and decision making, positively impacting business
performance.
• Communicator skills
• Team player
• Excellent record of people management skills including conflict resolution,
performance appraisal and motivation.
