NEST360*> *> 0 *> (Newborn Essential Solutions and Technologies)*> is a
15-partner collaboration in four African countries (Malawi, Kenya, Tanzania
and Nigeria) to innovate, implement, and evaluate a health systems package to
improve hospital care for small and sick newborns. LSHTM leads the complex
evaluation of mortality and implementation, as well as the economic and
investment assessment.

We are seeking a Research Fellow or*> Assistant Professor in Health
Economics*> to support the project’s economics workstream. You will contribute
to multi-country, mixed-method data collection in more than 50 hospitals,
overseeing data quality, enabling locally-led analyses, supporting local teams
in technical analyses and writing, and leading writing for specific aspects.
High-level quantitative skills are required, ideally with experience in
routine data systems for MNCH and informatics.

You will have a postgraduate degree, ideally a doctoral degree, in health
economics or a related field, experience in health economics research, and
field experience living and conducting research in LMICs. You will have
experience managing multi-country mixed methods data, undertaking economic
analyses (cost-effectiveness and/or financing studies) in LMICs, and in using
cost-effectiveness modelling and software such as STATA, Excel, TreeAge and R.
You will establish and maintain effective working relationships in a
multicultural and multidisciplinary environment, and demonstrate the ability
to communicate and negotiate at all levels. Please see Job Description for

The post is part-time 0.5FTE and fixed-term for 12 months. It can be based in
London, Kenya, or Malawi .

The appointment will be made on LSHTM’s Academic Pathway salary scale Grade 6,
£40,011-£45,437 per annum (Research Fellow) or Grade 7, £46,704-£53,465 per
annum (Assistant Professor), depending on qualifications and experience. The
post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service. Annual
leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part time staff.

the Pension Scheme is available.
