POSITION TEAM LEADER HELP DESK

Malawi Red Cross Society (MRCS) urgently seeks to engage the services of a
TEAM LEADER HELP DESK*> at its Head Office in Lilongwe, starting ASAP,
latest 1 September 2020.

Purpose of the Job.

As part of its country-wide COVID-19 operations MRCS established a Help Desk
to serve staff and volunteers by phone, emails etc. Today, the Help Desk
consists of 2 IT and 2 Health agents who respond to queries from staff and
volunteers. MRCS appreciates the potential of the Help Desk and is keen to
fully develop its function for the current pandemic interventions and to use
this period to explore the Help Desk function beyond COVID-19. MRCS is looking
for a Team Leader for a pilot to explore a wider function of the Help Desk,
while continuing and consolidating the Help Desk functions for the COVID-19
response.

Main duties, Responsibilities and Accountabilities.

To lead and be part of the Help Desk Team to

2. Support staff and volunteers with information on emergencies/disasters or national society programmatic and technology developments
3. Collect, process, and respond to feedback from staff and volunteers
4. Support staff and volunteers with Mental Health and PsychoSocial Support (MHPSS) in emergencies.

Requirements

Professional requirements

> BA level in health or disaster management related field
> Experience minimum 3 years in the field of humanitarian aid or development. Call Centre or other client services experience an added advantage
> Experience with the use of KOBO/ODK and field research
> Computer and social media literate (minimum Word, Excel, email/internet, Whatsapp, conference calls). Experience with Call Centre software an added advantage.
> Able to speaking/write in English, and preferably local language(s)

> Pro-active attitude, self-motivated, able to work with minimum supervision
> Able to accept a wide variation in types of work, from Call Centre agent to Team leader
> Problem solving attitude, target and deadline oriented
> Able to lead and motivate a team
> Respecting and contributing to a good image of the Red Crescent/Red Cross
