The Christian Health Association of Malawi (CHAM) is an ecumenical umbrella
association co-owned by Episcopal Conference of Malawi and Malawi Council of
Churches. CHAM is the second largest provider of health services in Malawi, it
has 179Health Facilities and 11 Training Colleges which are located in all
parts of the country. Most of the Health Facilities are situated in the remote
and hard-to-reach areas. The objectives of CHAM are to facilitate, provide
technical support, and develop health services among all its member facilities
in order to achieve equity in access to health care, patient care and in all
matters, to act for the benefit of the people of Malawi.
CHAM wishes to recruit qualified and suitable persons in the following
positions
1. BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER
Grade*> CM3
Reports to*> Director of Business and Development
Purpose of the Job*>
Managing the daily activities of the newly created Business Development
Department for CHAM Secretariat, which include assisting in the development of
goals and strategies for all fundraising campaigns; planning and implementing
marketing programs and special events to maximize donor engagement and sales
of pharmaceutical products.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
> Market Researching and identifying new business and funding opportunities for CHAM including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, partnerships, products and services.
> Engagement, Management and retention of CHAM’s existing donors and clients.
> Formulating funding, investment and business proposals for CHAM to enable CHAM to become self-sustaining financially.
> Conduct CHAM customers’ needs assessment and design a responsive plan to effectively respond to CHAM customers’ needs.
> Conducting a detailed analysis of the capital and money markets that can help management make informed investment decisions.
> Formulation of sale and marketing strategies and campaigns.
> Undertaking sales visits to solicit business and to claim market share.
> Making regular assessment of strategic market information for identification of new market opportunities for CHAM.
> Liaising with the finance team, pharmacy and administration departments as appropriate to ensure smooth transportation and storage of products.
> Always seeking new ways of improving the way the business operates
> Always keeping abreast of trends and changes in the business world.
Qualifications and Experience
> Bachelor degree in business studies, a professional marketing Qualification or affiliation .
> Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing or any relevant field
> Minimum of 5 years working experience in Marketing field
> Experience in NGO*> and private sectors
> Experience in resource mobilization for local NGOs
Requisite Knowledge, Abilities and Skills
> A professional with good business knowledge
> A good grasp of numbers and the ability to write documents in a professional style.
> Must have an in-depth knowledge of business and ability to communicate about products and value proposition to clients.
> Must be a strategic thinker who is able to set aims and objectives in order to develop and improve business. Ability to work under pressure and deliver results on time
> A good team worker with excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation, marketing and networking skills
> Budget monitoring and tracking skills
> Organizational and interpersonal skills
