### Job Description

The Bantwana Initiative of World Education Inc. (WEI/Bantwana) seeks a
qualified Parenting Skills Program Officer for the USAID funded Ana Patsologo
Activity (APA), a project aimed at preventing new HIV infections and reducing
the vulnerability of orphans and vulnerable children (OVC) and adolescent
girls and young women (AGYW). WEI/Bantwana is a leader in OVC programming and
organizational capacity development in high HIV prevalence countries in
southern and eastern Africa.

Job Summary

The Program Officer – Parenting supports the implementation of the positive
Parenting and Early Childhood Development (ECD) aspects of Ana Patsogolo in 8
districts in the Southern Region of Malawi. The role is critical in ensuring
all parenting and ECD activities lead to improved health, child and social
protection outcomes, HIV/GBV/VAC reduction, uptake in ART and improved
adherence and viral load suppression for OVC and AGYW. This position will
report to the Technical Specialist Parenting and will have the following
responsibilities

Specific Responsibilities and Duties

> Support collaboration and coordination of program activities for Parenting and ECD.
> Work with the Clinical Referrals and Linkages officer to strengthen referrals and service provision for HIV exposed infants and caregivers, PMTCT mothers and pregnant teens. (Clinical and ECD).
> Work with the DREAMS and other technical officers to ensure youth and AGYW and their caregivers receive positive parenting training and follow up services.
> Coordinate work planning, training, materials development and distribution activities ensuring that all activities are properly and timely performed and that outputs are accomplished and delivered according to the agreed work plans.
> In collaboration with the project technical staff, monitor project activities to ensure fidelity of implementation.
> Liaise with partners, and relevant stakeholders regarding the project activities and policies and contribute toward formulating these policies and interventions; troubleshooting and problem solving.
> Participate in all relevant planning, implementation, and management meetings, workshops, and training.
> Generate monthly and quarterly and annual technical reports.
> Perform any other activity as assigned by technical staff.

Qualifications

> Degree in social work and social administration, development studies, guidance, and counseling, or related fields from a recognized institution.
> At least two years of experience working with an international NGO.
> Experience with Parenting and ECD for vulnerable populations preferred.
> Relevant experience in documentation, reporting, and records management is a requirement.
