Malawi Revenue Authority (MRA)

The Malawi Revenue Authority (MRA), an organization entrusted with the
assessment, collection and accounting for tax revenues for the Malawi
Government is inviting applications from suitably qualified and interested
candidates to fill the following vacant position in the Human Resources &
Organisation Development Division.

Position Human Resources Business Partner

Grade D1

Location Head Office

FUNCTION / KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Interpreting and advising employees on terms and conditions of employment,
application of relevant policies and procedures
• Maintaining human resource information systems and staff establishment
through the SAP system and produce monthly reports to ensure the availability
of accurate and up to date employee information for decision-making.
• Processing changes in employee status, pay and benefits and ensure these are
captured and verified in SAP
• Monitoring, analysing and reports on employee movements in the organisation,
staff turnover and retention
• Provide administrative and technical support in relation to the
implementation of MRA’s performance management system; advise and assist
managers in the development of equitable and transparent performance targets.
• Facilitating the planning of workshops, to ensure the dissemination of
information on Human Resources Management issues.
• Ensuring timely human resources related advertisements; vet application
form/letters for shortlisting; and arrange and oversee interview process and
produces interview reports Contributing to human resources budgets
• Recommending appropriate action to Management on issues affecting employees
• Monitoring the development of job descriptions in liaison with departmental
heads
• Administering leave and leave grants to ensure that it is in line with the
laid down procedures
• Investigating trend data on resourcing issues and probes underlying causes
of success and failure in placements in order to create a more effective
resourcing process.
• Contributing to human resources budgets and human resources strategy.
• Compiling performance scores and proving report to HR Manager.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Applicants should have the following qualifications, experience and skills –
• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management/ Business Administration,
Public Administration
• Excellent computer skills and knowledge of SAP-HR/HCM; and demonstrated
skills in database management and record keeping
• Specialized training in employment law, compensation, organizational
planning, organization development, employee relations, safety, training, and
preventive labour relations, preferred.
• General knowledge of employment laws and best practices
• Should have at least 5 years’ HR work related experience in a busy office

• Good understanding of labour laws
