The Drone + Data Aid (D+DA) project, leverages the use of drones for the
purpose of delivering medical commodities from the Kasungu District Hospital
to select health centers. The D+DA project will expand drone operations in
Kasungu District and scale to a regional drone network, enabling fast and
efficient delivery of medical goods including COVID-19 vaccines to Central
Malawi. The project is supported by GIZ and in collaboration with UNICEF’s
Drone and Data Academy (ADDA).

Currently, we are looking for a Public Health Specialist (m/f/d) to join our
Malawi operations where we are delivering medical commodities to rural areas
via drone.

Job Title*> Public Health Specialist

Job Summary*> This position will support Wingcopter service integration
into the Malawian health supply chain enabling improved operations and
customer service as well as assisting with the expansion to a drone network.

The Public Health Specialist plays a vital role in the success of our project
acting as the primary point-of-contact for Wingcopter stakeholders concerning
all health matters. Liaising between the Ministry of Health (MoH), district
hospitals and the health clinics and increasing the demand for drone delivery
of medical supplies including vaccines, blood, and wet samples.

This is a full-time contract position scheduled for 12-months with possible
extension. The position is based in Kasungu with up to 30% travel. We are
seeking someone that would be able to start ASAP.

Responsibilities

> Communication and routine visits with key stakeholders such as MoH, district hospitals, and local health clinics.
> Develops community outreach campaigns to educate the public on the value of drone delivery service.
> Prepares and maintains health reports tracking relevant programmatic metrics that demonstrate our local and national impact.
> Planning, coordinating and conducting scoping visits to new districts in Malawi to check their suitability for the establishment of a drone hub.
> Actively participating in the launch design and implementation of new drone hubs.
> In partnership with MoH, support setup of a digital ordering system pilot in Kasungu which tracks inventory and records orders.
> Provide input into weekly/monthly reports for Steering Committee
> Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

> A minimum of 5+ years of professional work experience at the national and international level in planning, implementation, and monitoring and evaluation of health/immunization programs
> Advanced English skills, both written and verbal
> A university degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Public Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics and Procurement or other relevant disciplines
> Proficiency in computer tools, and the logistics tools of the LMIS, EPI, SMT, DVD-MT, CCE inventory tool; Proficiency with MS products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
> A clear understanding of the Malawian healthcare system including donors/funders, procurement, distribution channels, and storage.
> Additional awareness of other African health systems is a plus.
> Have an organizational and managerial capacity
> Experienced communicator that can motivate stakeholders and clearly express the goals, objectives, and impact of the project.
