CARE is an International Non-Governmental Organization and works in 95
countries around the world to support more than 890 poverty-fighting
development and humanitarian-aid projects in the improvement of livelihoods
and capacities of poor and marginalized households especially women and girls.
In Malawi, CARE works in collaboration with the Government of Malawi and other
non-governmental partners. CARE is looking for suitably qualified candidate to
fill the position of IT Assistant*> to be based in Lilongwe.

Position IT Assistant
Position description
The IT Assistant will work with the ICT team to support staff, visitors, and
others in the effective use of ICT systems. S/he will help to develop and
implement IT standards and policies and provide technology support and
solutions to meet the needs of the organization.
Specific Roles and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be expected to perform the following specific
duties
> Configure, deploy, and manage workstations, laptops and peripheral equipment.
> Provide software/hardware and system troubleshooting support.
> Install and upgrade computer hardware and software as per organizational guidelines and industry best practice.
> Ensure the availability of the local IP PBX and troubleshoot any challenges identified.
> Create user account in the local AD and reset user passwords on AD when required.
> Enforce multi- factor authentication (MFA) for all users.
> Follow-up on pending tickets with the helpdesk for closure.
> Proactively monitor the network ensuring downtimes are identified and resolved with little to no impact to the business, escalate all unresolved connectivity issues with the IT Coordinator.
> Coordinate quarterly service and maintenance of all IT equipment.
> Work with the Administrator in IT Asset management and making sure that Asset Management System is up to date on all IT Equipment. Identify non-functional equipment for disposal according to donor and organizational Guidelines.
> Auto configure endpoints patching and push updates from the online portal in case of failures, ensuring all computers are fully patched and scanned bi-monthly.
Minimum Required Qualifications, skills and relevant work experience
> University diploma/degree in a relevant field (e.g. Computer Science, Information
> Technology, Business Information technology, Information management)
> At least three years of working experience in a related field,
> Network Certifications – (Networking Essentials, N+), Comptia A+ certification
> Prior experience in O365, Ms SharePoint, Okta will be an added advantage
