SRHR Africa Trust (SAT) in consortium arrangement with Plan International and
FAWEMA has secured funding from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the
Netherlands to respond to issues around Teenage Pregnancies and Child Marriage
for the next five years. We seek to recruit a Country Coordinator to
facilitate and oversee the programme implementation and management in Malawi,
including partnership building and the realisation of synergies and added
value. S/He ensures meaningful engagement of girl and young women in the Break
Free! programme
The country coordinator is the first point of contact within the country for
the Break Free! Consortium.
The coordinator facilitates planning, monitoring, and reporting processes and
oversees processes of joint learning on context, programme and collaboration,
with support from the PMEL working group
The main tasks of the Country Coordinator are
> Coordinate country programme implementation in cooperation with BF! partners involved by initiating (quarterly) coordination, monitoring meetings with the BF! Consortium partners in-country
> Coordinate the development and advice upon adaptations of the country programme ToC to ensure maximum efficiency and synergy of the programme sot up and interventions in the specific country context.
> Coordinate processes of partner selection (in close consultation with consortium partners), capacity strengthening. joint communication and advocacy.
> Ensure there is no overlap in the BF! programme activities and to ensure cooperation and good partnership in the BF! country Consortium.
> Guide and coordinate the development and approval of annual plans and budgets in a timely and qualitative manner. Lead organisation is responsible in ensuring that work plans and budgets get consolidated and sent to the regional programme committee for approval.
> Make sure reporting on progress and results in done in a timely and qualitative manner. Lead organisation is responsible in ensuring that reports get consolidated and sent to the regional programme committee for approval.
> Facilitate and oversee processes of joint quarterly and annual monitoring, review and planning by the consortium members and local partner CSOs. The country lead organization monitors the quality of the M&E process.
> Act as liaison between country, regional and international programme levels Communicates directly with the Consortium Desk for operational topics. Support and facilitate effective collaboration at the level of the LCTs and RPC.
> Coordinate contact and joint representation with other local key stakeholders (e.g. the Dutch Embassy, national and local government) in cooperation with other in-country consortium organizations
> Coordinate capacity building `capacity strengthening activities for the BF! Consortium by making sure that the country programme teams make an inventory of the needs of the partners and the available BF! local resources for capacity building.
> Consolidate narrative reports and annual work plans to various structures of the BF programme.
> Undertake any other duties delegated from the SM Country Director
Qualifications
A minimum relevant Degree; at least 5 years of proactive experiences in girls
and young women sexual and reproductive health and rights.
