The Role
Oxfam in Malawi is looking for a results-oriented Malawian to take up a
Project Coordinator position for the Building Urban Climate Resilience Project
to be based in Zomba. The successful candidate will lead and manage all
aspects of the Building Urban Climate Resilience Project in Zomba City,
including project planning, community mobilisation and implementation;
Monitoring and Evaluation; documentation; and budget management in liaison
with partners and key stakeholders to ensure delivery of highest quality,
effective and impactful project.

Applicants should at least have a minimum of a B.A/BSc. Degree in a
development related field such as Agriculture, Agribusiness, Social
Development & Sustainable Livelihoods, Rural Development, economics, Civil
Engineering etc. A postgraduate degree will be an advantage; 7+ years of
senior leadership experience, preferably within a large development or
humanitarian organisation; sound experience in managing and overseeing multi-
stakeholders’ projects, entailing construction work and implementation of
activities with high level of operations and logistics, including community
and Government participation and engagement; demonstrable experience, skills
and knowledge in Disaster Early Warning systems, drainage systems, evacuation
centre management, solid waste management, river focused interventions and
flood management, sustainable forest management and effective management of
contractors; knowledge and solid experience in community mobilisation and
engagement techniques; proven experience in working with Government at both
local and national level: strong familiarity with a gender- responsive and
human rights centred approach in planning and implementation including
conceptual clarity of power analysis.; solid knowledge and experience in
Disaster Risks Management, Urban resilience and Climate Change; extensive
experience of Project Cycle Management (PCM) principles; and significant
monitoring and evaluation experience and skills.
