Our Client, An Established Agricultural Company, is looking for an experienced
Plant Manager to join their team.

Responsibilities:
Operations
• Human resource development and skills transfer as stated by the conditions
of the Temporary Employment.
• Responsible for the efficient operations of the Company, a granular
fertilizer blending facility.
• Managing /-110 permanent labour and up to 300 additional casual labour in
peak season.
• Responsible for the annual production and bagging of 36 000t blended
granular fertiliser and re-bagging of 80 000t of straight fertiliser (March to
January).
• Responsible for stock keeping and control of stock.
• Receipt, production and dispatch of various fertilisers and fertiliser
products. (200t per day by road and rail).
• Scheduling and executing the maintenance and refurbishment of equipment
between operations.
• Conforming and maintaining national and internal quality and standards.
• Participating in annual budgeting and monthly conformance to budget.
• Engaging with contractors, suppliers of operational goods and services.
o Building and maintaining strong supplier relationships.
• Managing work schedules, minimum stock levels and overtime.
• Planning daily, weekly and monthly production activities.
• Implementing and chairing of Occupational Health and Safety at Malawi
Fertiliser Company.
• Increasing the capacity of supervisors and managers through skills transfer
and further learning.
• Managing positive relationships throughout all levels of staff.
Technical.
• Designing and implementing a template report on the technical aspects of
granular fertiliser and its application available to farmers and clients.
• Taking of soil samples and advising farmers and clients on crop specific
granular fertiliser programs based on soil client soil analysis.
• Providing agronomic advice where required.

Qualifications

At least 5 years experience in the Agri industry.
at least 3 years Plant Management Experience.
