People’s Trading Centre Limited seeks to recruit suitably qualified persons to
fill the position of Food Lovers Market Manager. This is a Senior Management
position in the Company and will be reporting to Executive Management.
The Company
Peoples Trading Centre Limited (PTC) is a leading retail chain in Malawi with
21 shops in the four major cities of the country. The business operates under
four different brands, namely; Peoples Metro, Peoples Express, SPAR and Food
Lovers Market. PTC is a wholly-owned subsidiary company of Press Corporation
Plc, a leading conglomerate listed on the Malawi Stock Exchange.
FOOD LOVERS MARKET MANAGER
The Position
A position has arisen for a Manager who has a passion for fresh food
management at our Food Lovers Market at the Gateway Mall in Lilongwe. Food
lovers is a fresh food store with strong emphasis on; fruit and vegetables,
butchery, bakery and home meal replacement with complimenting dry grocery
lines.
Key Performance Areas
Full management of entity
> Purchasing & pricing/ reporting/ full financial function / full human resources function.
> Managing of KPI’s, service departments, stock levels, ordering, & liaison with Fruit & Vegetables Holdings.
> Merchandising.
> Management of assets especially refrigeration.
> Managing of wastage, shrinkage.
> Implementation and maintenance of store processes and procedures.
> Staff management.
The Person
> Must have 10 years retail experience of which 5 years at supervisory or managerial levels in a similar environment.
> Must have a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree from a reputable institution. Additional qualifications in retail or any other relevant field will be an added advantage.
> Must be highly creative, innovative, analytical and a team player with exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills, planning and organization skills.
> Must be visionary and skilled to craft and implement a sustainable sales strategy.
> Must be a self-starter and possess an ardent desire to be successful.
> High energy levels and a passion for retail.
> Must be willing to work on Saturdays/ Sundays/ Public Holidays/ overtime/ shifts.
> Must have numeric skills and general understanding of basic financial management.
> Have proven problem solving techniques.
> Required minimum supervision.
> Have strong communication skills.
> Love for managing and mentoring people.
> Be able to deliver according to strict deadlines.
