Position Summary

The Head of Institutional Partnerships role on our Global Development team
leads a small team (comprised of two other staff members) in thoughtfully
engaging, stewarding and renewing a portfolio of global foundations champions,
and to help generate engagement opportunities and experiences that will help
us to attract, retain and grow foundations supporters for our network over
time. The Head of Head of Institutional Partnerships will work closely with
our Head of Global Development, CEO, Board members, regional and programmatic
team leads, and network organization CEOs to develop and execute on our global
foundations fundraising strategy. The Head of Institutional Partnerships will
lead a team in managing annual foundations revenue, currently more than $10
million, for Teach For All’s global organization and network organizations.
This position is a visible, externally facing role representing Teach For All
to current and potential foundations donors.

The successful candidate is a leader who possesses exceptional strategic
skills, strong relationship building and advocacy skills, entrepreneurial
spirit with a deep personal belief in Teach For All’s approach and mission,
and a collaborative and effective approach to leading teams. This person is
also a meticulous project manager and systems-thinker. This person will report
to the Head of Global Development and Strategic Partnerships at Teach For All.

Responsibilities

As the Head of Institutional Partnerships*> this person will

> Set vision and develop a strategy to engage a robust portfolio of global foundations (approximately $10M annually) as well as attract and increase the funding raised via the foundations sector;
> Create an engaging annual cultivation strategy that helps bring our global work and impact to life for champions;
> Lead the Foundations teams including the Foundations Specialists and Foundations Director, providing coaching, mentoring, and ongoing support and ensuring the team has clear strategic direction and priorities and has access to professional development opportunities, joint problem-solving and coaching around the substance of the work;
> Work in deep partnership with Teach For All’s heads of region, network CEOs, Board members and global team to identify, pursue, and maximize foundations relationships to grow them into robust global collaborations.

Specific responsibilities include

Strategy and Execution (50%)

> Work in close partnership with Teach For All’s CEO and heads of regions, as well as other stakeholders to build and cultivate a robust and growing pipeline of foundations donors.
> Set vision for a robust portfolio of current foundations donors including developing an annual cultivation and partnership engagement strategy for key stakeholders in those foundations.
> Manage a pipeline of potential foundations supporters and create and execute strategies for the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of new donors.
> Maintain deep knowledge of Teach For All as an organization and Teach For All’s programmatic priorities to represent the organization effectively with external constituents and link donor interests to Teach For All’s priorities.
> Identify and leverage external opportunities to engage foundations supporters and ensure Teach For All is an influential global voice among foundations champions in global gatherings and other spaces.
> Maintain a lens on funding trends and initiatives with foresight, to help position Teach For All for future opportunities.

Writing & Communications (30%)

> Ensure the development of compelling proposals and other requests for support, in collaboration with Teach For All’s Global Development Communications team.
> Draft communications and other requests on behalf of the CEO and other key stakeholders.
> Identify and execute on opportunities for joint external positioning, and conceptualize and implement joint events.

Building Relationships (20%)

> Develop deep relationships with and understanding of foundations prospects and donors.
> Build the relationships and insight to serve as a resource to Teach For All’s network partners in accessing funding and support from global foundations.
> Steward current foundations supporters by representing the organization and global network.
> Manage and maintain strong relationships with Teach For America and other network partners to ensure close collaboration around shared goals.
> Collaborate closely with programmatic staff to advance shared goals in order to raise significant resources for Teach For All and our network partners.
> Work closely with the finance team on all financial and contractual items related to portfolio.

Compensation

Salary for this position is competitive and dependent on country of hire,
prior work experience and includes a comprehensive benefits package.

Work Authorization

Candidates for this position must possess local work authorization in order to
be considered.

Travel and Hours

Travel possible when it is safe to do so and in accordance with local travel
guidelines. Given that we work across different time zones, some non-
traditional hours for early or later calls are an expectation of this role.
