JOB DESCRIPTION
Unitrans Malawi Limited, a prominent employer in the sugar logistics industry
wants to recruit suitably qualified person of Malawian origin to fill the
above position which has fallen vacant at its Dwangwa Depot.
Duties and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Work shop Manager, the successful person will be required to
Purchase stocks in compliance with company laid down procedures,
Liaise with Stores Supervisor, at all times, to ensure that the spares
required are not already on order or in stock,
Generating purchase orders for approval by Workshop Manager and Depot Manager
before placement of order with supplier,
Order stocks timeously according to approved purchase request,
Obtain three quotes from different reputable suppliers, follow-up on delivery
times, and report to the Work shop Manager from time to time,
Liaise with Stores Supervisor to obtain updated position of quantities in
stock,
Maintain good housekeeping practices.
Qualifications and Experience
• Must have a minimum of Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE )
• Must have at least a Chartered Institute of Purchasing Diploma
• Minimum of three years hands on experience in a similar position in a busy
organization.
• Ability to work with little supervision and solve problems as efficiently
and effectively as possible
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills is a must
