VACANCIES

ZOMBA DISTRICT COUNCIL

Zomba District Council with support from the American people through US Agency
for International Development (USAID), will over the Course of three years,
implement critical health and social welfare activities at the district level
and contribute to the improvement of HIV/AIDS, maternal and child health
(MCH), Family Planning (FP), Nutrition and Social Welfare service celivery in
Zomba district. To achieve the intended objectives of the government to
government agreement, Zomba District Council intends to hire additional Health
Care and Support Staff workers.

The Council therefore invites suitably qualified Malawians to fill the
following vacant positions existing in Zomba

Post Senior Medical Assistant (Grade L)

Salary Within Grade L salary scale segment

Age Limit Not older than 40 years

Qualifications

Applicants must be non-serving officers in possession of Certificate in
Clinical Medicine and registered with Medical Council of Malawi.

Duties

1\. Prescribing treatment for patients
2\. Diagnosing and screening patients
3\. Examining patients manually
4\. Managing Out Patient unit
5\. Making references for patient cases for laboratory tests
6\. Administering admissions and discharges
7\. Conducting minor surgeries, anesthesia or referring patients to surgical
or
Medical Specialist
8\. Recording data in relevant registers and instruments, compiling and
analyzing data.
9, Performing monthiy monitoring and dissemination of information to
relevant stakeholders
10\. Submission of quarterly reports to designated supervisor according to the
HMIS guidelines.

Employmeni Terms

Successful candidates should be willing to be deployed in rural health
facilities
