Position Summary*>
This role will produce compelling written communications that inspire donors
to invest in Teach For All and our network organizations around the world. You
will collaborate with Teach For All staff to prepare, write, and edit grant
proposals, donor reports, and other communications. You will leverage your
exceptional abilities in writing, strategic thinking, and project management
while also developing and leveraging extensive understanding of Teach For
All’s global work and impact. Internally, this role will be called Global
Development Communications Specialist.
Outcomes
This role will develop high-quality written communications for external
stakeholders in order to
> raise funding for Teach For All’s global organization and network partners,
> build a global constituency of champions
> advance Teach For All’s efforts to grow the reach of our network to more countries around the world
Responsibilities*>
Responsibilities for this position will include, but are not limited to
Produce compelling written communications (75%); this will include
> Writing proposals, concept notes, reports, high-stakes emails, PowerPoint presentations, and other communications to inspire current and prospective donors to support Teach For All and our network organizations
> Sifting through information from disparate sources, and then identifying and prioritizing the key pieces, and synthesizing and organizing them into coherent narratives
> Building a deep understanding of the work and impact of Teach For All
> Building a solid understanding of donor motivations
> Strategizing with fundraising and program staff about content and messaging in pursuit of funding and stakeholder support
Project management (25%); this will include
> Developing and maintaining personal systems for the efficient, timely production of written materials
> Managing the writing production process, including developing production timelines, defining division of labor, reviewing donor criteria, and coordinating input gathering and document review
> Collaborating with other writers to strengthen Teach For All’s external communications, writing process, and writing resources
> Communicating with program staff to gather information for donor communications, such as updates on the latest network developments, impact data, partner support priorities, staffing, and financial information
> Liaising with staff across Teach For All to make sense of and incorporate data and information into Teach For All fundraising communications
Requirements
> Minimum 5 years of full-time work experience required
> Excellent writing skills required; prior professional experience writing or editing high-level external communications preferred
> Prior development/fundraising experience or knowledge of the grant application process a plus
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
> Exceptional written and oral communication skills (in English required; in Spanish a plus); exceptional PowerPoint (or comparable) skills a plus
> Exceptional reasoning and strategic problem-solving skills
> Strong ability to advance projects independently
> Ability to collaborate empathetically and effectively across a diverse staff and network
> Ability to understand qualitative and quantitative data and leverage it effectively in written communications
> Ability to manage multiple strategic writing projects and deadlines in a fast-paced, results-oriented work environment, while maintaining a very high bar for quality
> Ability to juggle several competing priorities at once with a solutions orientation and spirit of flexibility
> Ability to collaborate well with others on multiple projects simultaneously
> Draws satisfaction from supporting other individuals towards success and playing an integral behind-the-scenes role
> Demonstrates sound judgment and sensitivity to racial, cultural, and ideological diversity
> Interest in international development and global education preferred
> Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook preferred

Compensation
Salary for this position is competitive and dependent on country of hire,
prior work experience and includes a comprehensive benefits package.
Work Authorization*>
Candidates must possess local work authorization to work in the country where
they wish to be based.
Travel and Hours*>
Less than 5% travel is expected (mostly to staff conferences or team meetings)
when it is safe to do so and in accordance with local travel guidelines. Given
that this role will support individuals in various time zones, some
nontraditional hours are expected for occasional early or late calls.
