St. John’s Institute for Health
St John’s Institute for Health (formerly called St John’s College of Nursing &
Midwifery) is one of the eleven (11) Christian Health Association of Malawi
(CHAM) member training colleges operating in Malawi. The Institute was opened
in 1963 by Medical Missionary of Mary Sisters (MMM) and is the Health Training
Arm of the Catholic Health Commission in the Catholic Diocese of Mzuzu.
Meanwhile, in response to the 2020 – 2024 Strategic Plan, the Institute
continues with increasing output of health care worker through diversity of
health training programmes. To achieve the cause, SJIH has space in the
following areas that would like to attend to.
SKILLS LABORATORY COORDINATOR (Grade I/PO).*>
Responsible to the Dean of Academics
Job Specifications and Requirements
Qualifications
> Bachelors Degree in Nursing and Midwifery obtained from a reputable University or College; with at least two years of clinical practice and experience in a busy setting.
> A mature and committed practitioner with good communication skills
> Registered with the Nurses and Midwives Council of Malawi
Duties*>
• Preparing and arranging the skills laboratory as a clinical learning set up
• Conduct demonstrations on procedures in line with theory block sessions
• Monitor and evaluate students’ progress in the clinical practice
• Provide individual and group reflective clinical experience
• Participate in Curriculum Review
• Contribute to the management and administration of the College through
academic and related professional and social activities
REMUNERATION*>
St Johns will provide remuneration packages as prescribed by CHAM and
Government. However, the Board of Governors often solicit motivational
