INTERNAL AUDIT OFFICER – TECHNICAL AUDITS
Reporting to the IS & Technical Audit Manager, the Technical Audit Officer
will be responsible for planning and execution of technical and operations
audits, and following up on all technical/operational audits.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
> Plan, execute and prepare for internal audit engagements relating to technical/operational functions
> Identify risks relating to operational, technical and ICT functions of the company and make recommendations on appropriate improvements
> Provide input in the development of annual audit plans
> Design and update audit programs for operational audits to adequately cover the assessed risks
> Analyze audit evidence, identify audit issues, and propose solutions to be discussed with management to initiate change and improve the effectiveness of the business processes
> Complete the audit programs using professional judgment to accomplish audit objectives
> Prepare and discuss draft reports and recommendations to management. Work with audit clients to develop practical recommendations for reducing risks. Evaluate responses to reports to determine reasonableness and suggest follow-up actions.
> Draft management report points regarding the findings of risk analyses and audits for review and inclusion in management audit reports
> Evaluate and recommend on the organization’s business continuity plan to ensure its ability to continue essential business operations during the period of a system disruption
> Conduct periodic regulatory audits to ensure TNM’s compliance with operating license requirements and ITU standards and recommendations
> Conduct investigations assignments or any special audit assignments relating to technical areas such as post incident review and telecom fraud investigations as assigned by the Chief Audit Officer (CAO)
Educational and Professional Requirements
> A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Telecommunications Engineering or any other related field obtained from a recognized institution of higher learning.
> Should be a Certified Information Systems Auditor – CISA or studying towards the certification
> A minimum of 4 years work experience in telecoms environment
> Previous experience in auditing or managing telecoms infrastructure or related technology or functions such as billing, revenue assurance, switches, radio access/transmission network, network operations centre (NOC) etc.
> Experience in conducting Radio network analysis and quality tests utilizing drive test tools (TEMS, NEMO or any other RAN optimization tools)
> Ability to identify key processes and operational risks that the company is exposed to
> Ability to work independently, with limited required direction and guidance
> Ability to use data analysis software such as IDEA or ACL
> Knowledge of telecoms protocols, infrastructure and related network elements/systems/products
> Strong analytical capabilities and problem solving skills with an innovative mind and ability to make timely decisions in the discharge of his/her responsibilities
