Telekom Networks Malawi Limited

Reporting to the Network and Information Security Manager, the Information
Security Administrator shall be responsible for the implementation and
administration of cyber security systems and network monitoring tools.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

> Administers web-filtering software to monitor and block access to unwanted internet content
> Creates and maintains written Disaster Recovery (DR) documentation and procedures for assigned systems
> Implements and administers email security solution
> Identifies, reports, and resolves security violations
> Performs network vulnerability assessments
> Monitors and reports on health status of Information Security Systems
> Communicates about actual and potential vulnerabilities
> Develops written processes, including configuration checklists and best practices, in order to increase availability for assigned systems
> Enforces compliance with security policies and procedures
> Maintains firewall technologies that secure internet facing systems and server farms
> Reviews security logs generated by TNM security systems and reports on anomalies
> Administers antimalware software to prevent malware infections
> Applies Information Security Systems Updates and Patches
> Conducts security configuration reviews to remove stale configurations
> Administers Network Access Control for the Corporate Network
> Conducts systems backups of Information Security Systems according to approved policies
> Performs DR testing

Educational and other professional requirements

> Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronic Engineering or related field
> Good working knowledge of cyber security best practice e.g. IS027001 Standards
> Good working knowledge of ITIL
> Good working knowledge of Windows and Linux platforms
> Ability to securely configure network devices e.g. firewalls, switches and routers
> Analytical and problem-solving skills
> Ability to manage projects and work within agreed program
