deposit taking micro finance institution in Malawi operating through 22
service outlets serving borrowers and savers in rural, urban, and peri-urban
areas in Malawi.
FINCA is increasing access to its services and products through alternate
channels. To strengthen our team and prepare the institution for the
challenges ahead, FINCA Malawi is looking for interested qualified persons for
the below listed position
RECOVERIES MANAGER, based at the Head Office – Blantyre
The Recoveries Manager (RM) will be responsible for oversight of all recovery
systems, procedures and ensuring compliance with governing regulations. The RM
is responsible for the development and implementation Recovery policies and
procedures, recovering loans in arrears and realising the Company\u2019s
interest in collateral for delinquent clients.
The Recoveries Manager will in liaison with the Head of Branch Network
establish contact with delinquent clients to negotiate repayment plans that
are acceptable to FINCA and its customers. The Recovery Manager will also be
responsible for keeping all records relating to collateral and realisation
thereof. The Manager will also be responsible for his/her team results.
MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
> Drawing Recovery Plans every fortnight in coordination with Chief Commercial Officer.
> Collect all information concerning collateral and security realisation from each region.
> Liaise with the Head of Legal and Company Secretary on how to manage the recovery process, collateral realisation where necessary.
> Handover all cases to Legal Department where the client has retained a lawyer or where the loan requires legal proceedings
> Follow up with loan recovery deposits with the Branches.
> Manage Branch Recoveries in co-ordination with the Branch Recovery Team from the office.
> Manage Branch Recoveries with the Branch Recovery Team in the fields.
> Ensuring that all collateral is attached and realised in accordance with established policies and procedures and proceeds from the sale are remitted to FINCA on time.
> Prepare recovery status reports monthly and when requested to do so by Management.
> Review justifications for write-offs submitted by staff against real information from the field (clients).
> Perform administrative work or other job functions related to collections and recoveries
PERSONNEL SPECIFICATIONS
> Degree in any finance/business oriented field
> 3 years relevant job experience
