Beit CURE International Hospital (BCIH) is a Christian mission hospital
providing free orthopedic health care for children in Beit CURE International
Hospital Malawi is a teaching hospital that specializes in treating the
orthopedic needs of children and adults. The hospital runs as a Christian
charity and margins made on adult health care help in providing free care to
the needy children of Malawi. The adult orthopedic service covers mostly the
common orthopedic conditions such as arthroscopy, total hip & knee replacement
and fracture fixation. The BCIH champions the cause of children and families
burdened with physically disabling conditions that can be corrected or
alleviated through surgical interventions. The integral mission for BCIH is

The BCIH in Malawi, situated along Chipatala Avenue-off Cannery Corner in
Blantyre, is planning to resume some of its operations and services that it
had suspended is seeking the services of well qualified and competent
individuals to fill the following vacant position
WARD NURSE IN-CHARGE (REF BCIH/21/01)
PURPOSE*>
Reporting directly to the Heard of Nursing Services, a Ward in-Charge is a
team leader, in the provision of acceptable standards of quality nursing care
and comfort to patients, in accordance with the agreed hospital policies.
She/He overall needs of individual patients and allocate available resources
and nursing staff responsibilities appropriately, providing adequate
supervision and guidance where necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
1. Bachelors’Degree in Nursing from a qualified, those with a Bachelor’s Degree in Paediatric Nursing will have an added advantage.
2. Registered Nurse, current license to practice with no restrictions;
3. At least 5 years’ experience in clinical nursing practice with experience as a Nurse In-charge or Team Leader
4. Some experience in a paediatric surgical unit will be an added advantage

2. Understanding of diverse culture at the work place
3. Leadership Skills; di Good Communication Skills
4. Resource Management Skills
5. Ability to draft a duty roster
