Background
Fount for Nations (FFN) is a registered Malawian non-governmental organization
founded in 2015 with a mission of personalizing education and health so that
everyone can learn and live happy lives. With support from its partner Segal
Family Foundation, FFN is set to implement a COVID-19 response project that
will involve the provision of psychosocial counselling services to clients and
their families. FFN is therefore seeking to recruit Psychosocial Counsellors
(volunteer).
Job summary
The psychosocial counselor will primarily be responsible for providing
friendship bench counseling interventions, problem solving therapy to clients
through phone calls (toll free) during this period of COVID 19.
Essential duties and responsibilities
• Respond to at least 15-20 calls in a day
• Make relevant and appropriate referrals of clients as needed e. g patients
with suicidal thoughts
• Provide friendship bench and problem solving therapy on COVID 19 to clients
• Pay attention to client’s views, concerns or/problems about COVID 19
• Ensure collection of accurate and legible data
• Document all required information
• Ensure clients are given detailed information about COVID 19
• Maintain clients’ confidentiality at all cost
• Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time
Desired Qualifications and experience
• Diploma in psychosocial counseling obtained from a recognized institution OR
University certificate in counseling psychotherapy
• At least 1-year experience working as a psychosocial counsellor
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
