INTERNSHIP VACANCY
1.0 BACKGROUND
Focus Private Secondary School is well established institution that was
established in 2017. The school is located at Hilltop in Mzuzu, Northern
Malawi. The school is registered under the laws of Malawi and It is
accountable to its own local Board comprising 3 Trustees (3 men) which play an
oversight role on all
school operations. The school goal is ‘To contribute to quality education to
children of Malawi through provision of good and standard learning
environment.
2.0 OBJECTIVES OF THE INTERNSHIP
1) Enhance the educational experience of graduate students through theory and
guided hands-on exposure and involvement in institution development
activities;
2) Provide graduate students with an exposure to the working environment;
3) Provide a better understanding of institution goals and activities and
volunteerism’s
contribution to institution work.
4) Prepare graduate students for future work in the field related to
institution mandate through gained practical work experience related to their
academic background.
Focus PVT Secondary School is now seeking 2 graduates to fill the following
teaching areas

3.0 FUNCTIONS/DUTIES AND OUTPUT EXPECTATIONS
Among other duties, the interns will
• Participate in the development of institution annual and quarterly work
plans
• Development of scheme of work and lesson plans
• Mentoring students
• Deliver lessons in class and conduct assessments
4.0 EXPENSES/COST
The Internship Programme operates on a non-remunerative basis. Therefore, all
costs such as living expenses, travel,accommodation and any other costs
related to the internship MUST be borne by the intern unless provided for by a
sponsoring institution, e.g. University. The intern shall receive an
internship allowance of forty five thousand
Kkwacha (MK45,000) per month, subject to revision depending on availability of
funds.
5.0 OTHER RELEVANT INFORMATION
1) Interns can apply for any institution vacancies during the period of
internship.
2) The intern must keep confidential any and all unpublished information made
known
during the course of the internship and not publish any reports or paper on
the basis of
information obtained except with the written approval and authorization of
institution
Director/head.
3) Interns are required to conduct themselves in a manner that is compatible
with their
responsibilities.
4) Selected applicants will be offered an internship under the institution
terms and
conditions
6.0 MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
• Undergraduate degree and relevant experience in the field of education and
other
related subjects. Applicants who are approaching the end of a graduate..
• Willingness to acquire new knowledge.
• Flexibility and ability to work under pressure, or on short notice, with
challenging
deadlines.
• Ability to work independently or as a member of a team and in a multi-
cultural
environment
• Excellent oral and written communications skills and demonstrated teaching
abilities
and interest
• Good organisational skills & attention to detail.
