Introduction
The Lake Malawi Anglican University (LAMAU) is a church supported, equal
opportunity for higher education institution which is fully accredited and
recognized by the Malawi Government through the National Council for Higher
Education (NCHE). LAMAU runs Theology, Commerce, Public Health, Corporate
Security Management, Education (Humanities) and Rural & Community
Development programs.
In order to meet the quality education standards NCHE is mandated to set and
enforce, LAMAU invites applications from qualified and competent persons for
the following additional positions tenable at the College for Christian
Ministries (CCM) Main Campus Area 37 and its Extension at Area18/28G in
Lilongwe.
Duties and Responsibilities
Reporting to the University Finance Officer, the successful candidate will be
responsible for the following functions
> Receive and record transactions from students, guardians and donors
> Prepare payment vouchers with supporting documents from requisitioners
> Prepare reconciliation statements
> Check and update Cash Book (Journal) and Payment Vouchers
> Maintain back-up Financial Accounting Records
> Prepare monthly Banking summaries
> Organize quarterly Financial Reports and Annual Financial Reports and Audit Reports
Qualifications
> A minimum of a Degree in Business Administration (Accounting) obtained from a recognized training institution
> Have knowledge of computer applications and computerized accounting systems
> At least three year’s practical experience working at a busy institution.
Remuneration
An attractive package commensurate with qualification and experience will be
offered to the successful candidate.
