### Job Description

Médecins Sans Frontières is a private, non-profit international humanitarian
organization dedicated to providing medical assistance to populations in
crisis, without discrimination and regardless of race, religion, creed or
political affiliation. In Malawi, MSF works in collaboration with the
Ministry of Health and the local community in integrated HIV/AIDS in
Chiradzulu District and Cervical Cancer projects Blantyre districts .

Position NURSE AIDE – COVID RESPONSE*> ( 20 POSITIONS)


Workplace Blantyre-QECH

Type of contract 3-month Fixed term contract with possible extension

Start date Immediate

Main purpose of the position

Assisting in the nursing activities with hospitalized patients, according to
nurses and doctor’s prescription, universal hygiene standards and MSF
protocols, standards, and procedures in order to ensure the delivery of
quality and safe medical care for patients.

Main responsibilities

> Knowing, Assisting the nurse in organizing and providing care and treatments to patients, respecting at the rules of hygiene, safety, comfort, dignity, medical secret and patient confidentiality. Giving response to nurse’s requirements in case of an emergency
> Participating in the surveillance and monitoring of the patient and reporting to the nurse any relevant information. Compensating patients’ possible lack of autonomy by assisting and helping them in feeding, personal hygiene, movements and general comfort

> Assisting the nurses, social workers, and registrars to obtain basic vital information (i.e.g body temperature, weight, and height) and sociodemographic information (i.e. registration of patients, recording district of where patients are from, etc
> Assisting the nurses in running errands to support medical activities (e.g. running errands for nurses to collect laboratory order results, consumables and other supplies from the log-store or pharmacy, carrying medical supplies during home visits, etc…)
> Participating actively in the hospital platform (meetings, committee), trainings and in the basic health education sessions
> Ensuring cleanliness of his/her working environment (including facilities, material, linen, equipment, and carrying out the sorting and disposal of waste
> Will act as caretaker/Guardian of Patients.Ccollaborate and work flexibility with other staff at QECH

Requirements

Education*> Desired Clinical Studies

*>
Language *> Local Language and able to speak English

*>
Experience *> Essential previous working experience of at least two years in
relevant jobs.

Desirable experience in MSF or other NGOs in developing countries.

Knowledge*> Computer Literacy (Excel, Word)
