Foundation for Community and Capacity Development FOCCAD is a Malawian not for
profit organization headquartered in Nkhotakota district. FOCCAD has been
contracted by World Food Program to provide technical assistance (Capacity
Support) to Salima District Council towards implementation of 2020-2021 Food
Insecurity Emergency Response Program. FOCCAD urgently looks to recruit for
the following temporary positions for a period of two months (1st February-
30th March 2021) to work alongside council staff.
District Technical Officer- Operations (Coordination and Food Distribution) 4
months- Immediate.
Description The Operations Technical Officer will work with DRRO at the
council secretariat, providing technical support on emergency response
coordination, planning, and food distribution strategies.
REPORTING TO Program Manager
Responsibilities
• Support the Council DRRO in all operations, planning, coordination and
management of food distribution related activities, targeting, verifications
process for beneficiaries, trainings of council staff and CPCs.
• Ensure all JEFAP guidelines implementation in all response processes.
• The officer will be the NGO lead person on all program activities related to
food distribution technical support.
Qualification
The candidate should have at least
• Bachelor’s degree in agriculture extension, disaster management, social
sciences, nutrition, or any development related field.
• Proven humanitarian principles and standards knowledge and hands-on
experience
• Knowledge of new JEFAP guidelines on targeting processes, verification,
assessments for food insecure households
• Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in managing humanitarian or emergency
response food distribution programs in an NGO setup (MVAC preferable)
• Computer Skills Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power
Point.
