Foundation for Community and Capacity Development FOCCAD is a Malawian not for
profit organization headquartered in Nkhotakota district. FOCCAD has been
contracted by World Food Program to provide technical assistance (Capacity
Support) to Salima District Council towards implementation of 2020-2021 Food
Insecurity Emergency Response Program. FOCCAD urgently looks to recruit for
the following temporary positions for a period of two months (1st February-
30th March 2021) to work alongside council staff.
District Technical Officer- Gender, Protection and Complaints and Feedback
Mechanisms.
Description
• The Gender, Protection and CFMs officer will work with the DRRO at the
council on establishing multiple complaints and feedback mechanisms, ensuring
gender mainstreaming, protection of beneficiaries from sexual violence and
abuse.
• The officer will provide technical support and ensure that protection
guidelines and standards for humanitarian response are adhered.
REPORTING TO District Operations Officer
Responsibilities
• Providing technical assistance in all gender and protection related
activities during emergency response.
• The officer will enhance the capacity of council staff and CPCs in
collection of complaints, case follow-up and closure and referrals.
• The officer will also train community workers and support social and
behavior change communication (SBCC)
Qualification
The candidate should have the following
• Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, gender, rights, protection,
communication studies or any relevant field.
• Three to five years’ experience in managing humanitarian response programs
in a similar capacity
• Knowledge in key PSEA and associated standards and protocols.
• Knowledge of gender related policies, guidelines, protocols and framework
• Excellent computer and communication skills.
