There is Hope (TIH) invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to
fill the position of Vocational Training Coordinator tenable at its office at
Dzaleka, Dowa.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Programs Manager, the Vocational Training Coordinator will be
responsible for the overall management and operations of all the programs run
by There Is Hope in the following trades Bricklaying, Carpentry and Joinery;
Welding and Fabrication; Plumbing and Tailoring and Fashion Design. In
addition, he/she will be responsible for putting in place operational systems,
enforcing the implementation of the same and supervision of vocational
training Instructors.
Specific Functions
a) Supervision of Vocational Training Instructors and classes.
b) Liaison between There Is Hope and Technical Entrepreneurial, and Vocational
Education and Training Authority (TEVETA) and other stakeholders.
c) Recruitment and monitoring of vocational training students
d) Conducting Entrepreneurship training to vocational training students.
Minimum Requirements
a) Bachelors Degree in Technical Education, Social Science or equivalent with
at least 3 years’ experience in managing and leading people and an institution
or a Diploma with over 5 years’ experience.
b) Holders of any other Trade Test and TEVET Certificate plus the above
qualifications will have an added advantage.
c) Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and
Chichewa.
d) Knowledge of Microsoft office.
Those with hands-on experience in working as School Administrators, Heads and
Coordinators coupled with the above qualifications are encouraged to apply.
