JOB OPPORTUNITY

The Christian Health Association of Malawi (CHAM) is an ecumenical umbrella
association co-owned by Episcopal Conference of Malawi and Malawi Council of
Churches. CHAM is the second largest provider of health services in Malawi. It
has 190 Health Facilities and 11 Training Colleges which are located in hard
to reach areas across the country. The objective of CHAM in general is to
provide technical support, and develop health services among all its member
facilities in order to achieve equity and Universal access to health care, to
act for the benefit of the people of Malawi especially in the poor and hard to
reach rural areas.
CHAM with funding from USAID through FHI 360 under the EMPOWER Project, CHAM
would like to recruit;
POSITION TITLE*> Senior Technical Officer
LOCATION*> Zomba District
REPORTS TO*> The Director of Health Programmes

RESPONSIBILITIES
> This individual will be the lead technical expert on delivery of integrated services to AGYW as part of the larger DREAMS package.
> S/he will provide expert guidance on appropriate technical and programmatic approaches for scale up of contraceptive and other SRH services for AGYW, including GBV mitigation and post-violence care.
> S/he will recommend improvements in the delivery of services and engage in mentoring of service delivery teams.
> Ensure proper coordination of DREAMS and HIV/AIDS Service delivery partners working in Zomba and Machinga districts to achieve project’s objectives.
> Ensuring that the project is timely achieving its deliverables.
> Provide technical guidance to district teams on the implementation of quality SRH/HIV services to AGYW.
Qualifications
> Master’s Degree in public health, health management, or a related discipline, or clinical degree in medicine or nursing.
> Minimum 8 years professional experience with international health and HIV/AIDS programs, inclusive of at least 3 to 5 years in a technical leadership role in resource-challenged settings.
> At least 3 years’ experience with the delivery of FP/SRH services at scale in ESA region, including experience with the provision of these services to AGYW.
> Demonstrated state-of-the-art expertise in youth-friendly SRH services, family planning/HIV integration, and GBV services, especially post-violence care, in high prevalence settings.
> Prior experience with clinical training of health personnel for improved service delivery in resource-challenged settings.
