Management Sciences for Health, Inc.

MAIN PURPOSE OF POSITION

The IT Specialist is responsible for the implementation and management of all
information technology systems for MSH Malawi. S/he assures the availability
of appropriate IT systems and support mechanisms for MSH Malawi offices;
manages the information technology and computer systems; monitors and
maintains technology to ensure maximum access to facilitate project work; and
ensures technology is equipped with current hardware and software. The IT
Specialist maintains network administration, ICT services and IT standards.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

Information Technology

Systems

> Oversees troubleshooting, systems backups, archiving, and disaster recovery; provides expert support when necessary.
> Manages and develops upgrades to MSH Malawi’s telephone system.
> Oversees all telephone systems and changes, including routing for seating assignments.
> Oversees the administration and maintenance of computer stations and software and provides additional support as needed.

Networking

> Develops and implements appropriate IT networking infrastructure to support effective and efficient implementation of MSH Malawi projects.
> Implements IT network security in line with MSH Corporate Standards.
> Oversees the administration and maintenance of the MSH Malawi’s IT infrastructure.
> Setup network diagrams and change accordingly when system changes.

Help Desk Management

> Helps Overseeing all help desk activities for MSH Malawi
> Responds to escalated help desk issues.
> Oversees the administration and maintenance of all software and networks.
> Interacts with internal clients to help resolve IT-related issues; provides answers in a timely manner.

Management

> Assists to Initiate and implements improvements and upgrades of IT systems.
> Serves as main point of contact on all IT-related matters for MSH Malawi; serves as primary liaison with Home Office IT staff.
> Liaise with Home office IS for any IT standards and policies that need to be implemented at MSH Malawi office and make sure the standards and polices are implemented accordingly
> Identifies and provides standards for gathering information for use in trend analysis and reports to Deputy Chief of Party.
> Sets and manages internal client expectations and day-to-day internal client interaction.
> Communicates effectively with internal clients to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions.
> Continually seeks opportunities to increase internal client satisfaction and deepen client relationships.
> Provides appropriate specifications for the purchase of hardware and software products.
> Any other assigned duties

Advanced University degree in Information Science, Information Technology.

REQUIRED MINIMUM

EXPERIENCE

5+ years of related experience.
