Introduction*>
St Andrews Community Hospital is a non-profit making institution under the
Anglican Diocese of Lake Malawi. The Hospital is a member of the Christian
Health Association of Malawi (CHAM). It offers inpatient and outpatient
services.

St Andrews Community Hospital would like to recruit suitably qualified
personnel to fill the following vacant position with immediate effect:

Position: MEDICAL OFFICER (Grade H) (1 Position)

Job Requirement and Competences

Reporting to the Hospital Director and a member of the Senior Hospital
Management Team, this position
oversees all medical, clinical, and diagnostic services including Continuous
Quality Improvement (CQI);
supervising and supporting medical, clinical, and diagnostic staff. As such
the incumbent must have the
following attributes;

> Good practical medical skills.
> As an in-charge of medical department, the incumbent demonstrates the ability to consistently make good decisions through a combination of analysis, experience and judgment.
> Honest, open and with a high degree of integrity.
> Excellent leadership and management skills.
> Ability to solve problems.
> Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Qualification

> MBBS or equivalent medical degree.
> Valid registration with medical council of Malawi
> Post-graduate training in internal medicine, family medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, maternity, or
pediatrics is preferred but not required.

> Experience in management of HIV-related diseases, including TB, as well as health systems for HIV
management.

> Experience and interest in teaching and research is strongly preferred.
> Experience in health systems management with a reputable and busy hospital. Those who have worked with CHAM hospitals before will have added advantage.
