St. Joseph’s Ludzi Community Hospital which is under Lilongwe Diocese. The
Hospital ‘s Mission is to promote health and serve the community with holistic
quality health services that reflects Christian values, by reducing the
morbidity and mortality rate .This will be done through preventive and
curative services by committed members of staff .
To achieve its mission statement, the hospital is inviting applications from
suitably qualified candidates to fill the following vacant position;
Position CLINICAL OFFICER (GRADE K)
2\. Location St.Joseph’s Ludzi Community Hospital
3\. Department Clinical
4\. Reporting Officer Chief Clinical Officer
5\. Responsible for Ensuring that patients are properly diagnosed, and that
treatment is properly rendered
Duties and Responsibilities
Supervising staff under him/her in their routine daily work.
Diagnosing and screening patients.
Examining patients using accepted standards.
Referring patient for laboratory test and X-ray.
Prescribe treatment for other patients.
Administering admission and discharges.
Conducting minor surgeries, anesthesia.
Ordering and monitoring the proper use of drugs.
Preparing duty roster for staff.
Referring patients to surgical or medical or other specialists.
Supervising the recording patients’ data in relevant registers.
Rotate evening and night on-call as scheduled.
Supervising the aggregating, analyzing and interpreting data.
Disseminating information to all relevant stakeholders including submission of
daily reports to the designated officer.
Any other duties that may be deem reasonable for the post.
Job Specifications
Qualifications
A minimum of a Diploma in Clinical Medicine obtained from recognized training
institution and must be registered with the relevant professional body
Knowledge, Ability and Skills
Well conversant with the Health system in Malawi
Ability to work independently and in a team
Effective communication skills
Problem identification and solving skills
