St. Andrew’s International Primary School

St. Andrew’s International Primary School is seeking to appoint an excellent
teacher for a position within our Academic Staff. This important teaching
position will require the successful candidate to exhibit the following
characteristics

> Fully qualified teacher status (Internationally recognised)
> Extensive experience in the delivery of a British-style curriculum
> A positive personal ethos and a proactive approach to education in the British style
> The ability to plan and execute high quality lessons, resulting in excellent attainment for children of all abilities
> To provide an inspirational model that ensures DT and Art infuse throughout the curriculum and beyond.
> The ability to work as part of a team in the delivery of a world-class education
> The willingness to work hard and collaboratively to achieve the aims and objectives of the school as a whole.
> To exhibit flexibility and adaptability not just in relation to long term initiatives but in response to shorter term requirements.
> The ability to act as a role model for all our children and members of staff.
> The personal drive to expand good teaching practice outside the boundaries of our school, in line with the school’s ambitious vision.

The Role*>
The successful candidate will take on a lead role within Art and Design
Technology. In this role the candidate will be expected to enhance the overall
provision; embedding skills and raising the profile of Art and DT throughout
the existing curriculum. Through secure and comprehensive planning, and the
ongoing monitoring of individual attainment, raise and improve the outcomes
for children.

In order to be successful in the role, the candidate will need to show clear
ability to work with our year group teams in the delivery of Art and Design
Technology. This might include team teaching as well as specific work with
target groups of children.

By planning short lessons over a long period of time as well as blocks of
teaching, the successful candidate will support and develop each child’s
learning journey through to mastery of the skills taught. The successful
candidate will need to show creativity in their approach to the teaching of
these subjects.
Looking beyond the boundaries of the school, the successful candidate will
also be committed to sharing good practice with other schools, and the wider
community. In short, growing the reputation of St. Andrew’s so that we become
synonymous with Arts development in Malawi.
