Bishop Mackenzie International School, the only IB World School in Malawi, is
seeking an experienced Business Manager to join the senior leadership team.
The successful candidate will have a demonstrated record of innovative
leadership within a business environment, organisational skills, and leading
and developing teams. She/he will also have a cooperative, collaborative,
empathetic and supportive style of leadership.
The Business Manager will not only be intuitive but also has proven experience
managing and coordinating finance activities. The successful candidate will
have overall responsibility for coordinating the school business
administration,
legal compliance, and school support staff. S/he will manage a team of
finance, human resources, procurement, marketing, facilities, and ÌT staff to
ensure quality, timeliness, and efficiency of all internal school systems. The
school seeks a dynamic candidate who has experience working with teams to
innovate,transform, and modernize business / operational systems and
processes.
#### DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Business Manager will provide expertise and leadership in all business
service areas as well as other non-instructional operations. The Business
Manager will ensure the school remains compliant with applicable Malawian laws
and regulations pertaining to payroll taxes and labor laws.
#### QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
> ACCA or equivalent Advanced degree in business administration/management, accounting, finance, or a related field, preferably to Masters level; 10+ years of experience in a similar role.
> Superior business skills, leadership skills and experience, employee management, understanding of data privacy standards.
> Solid communication skills, both written and verbal, public speaking skills, deep understanding of business principles and practices, superior attention to detail, organisational skills, planning skills; research skills; analytical skills; critical thinking skills; problem-solving skills; computer skills; multi-tasking abilities; integrity, honesty.
> Experience of working within a school environment (preferred).
> Familiarity, or a working knowledge, of integrated school management systems (preferred).
