movement in Sweden. We work in more than 20 countries in Asia, Eastern Europe,
Latin America, Africa, and collaborate mainly with member-based organisations
consisting of women and men who live in poverty. We work in the thematic
fields of sustainable rural development and adequate housing. Our values are

We Effect country office in Malawi is part of the We effect Southern Africa
Region implementing country development programmes in Mozambique, Malawi,

We Effect is now recruiting a Project Officer . This is part of the
Programmes Unit in We Effect Malawi Country office in Lilongwe.

Main responsibilities

As Project Officer you are expected to perform the following responsibilities

> Coordinate programme implementation – liaise with and advise the partner organisations on organizational development and implementation of work plans and monitoring to meet expected outputs and outcomes.
> Facilitate the Partner Coordination through establishment a good working relationship.
> Organise meetings, trainings, briefings and workshops with relevant stakeholders and partners.
> Providing technical support and contribute to building institutional capacity of partner organisations on different aspects such as sustainability, gender mainstreaming study circles and organizational development.
> Facilitate partner review meetings quarterly.
> Ensure that all programme activities are appropriately documented and that all summaries of meetings, workshops and trainings are shared with We Effect Management and the Partner organisations.
> Strengthen collaboration with partners to ensure good communication and create good environment.
> Ensure that We Effect is well represented in relevant partner forums.
> Contribute to We Effect resource mobilisation for projects/programmes in Malawi.
> Strengthen collaboration with partners, relevant Government institutions, NGOs to ensure good communication and create good environment to effectively operate programmes.
> Ensure the programme achieves its objectives in a cost effective and timely manner.
> Review work plans and reports from partner organisations.
> Consolidate programme reports and disseminate results according to donor and We Effect requirements.
> Monitor, evaluate programmes to ensure programme efficiency.

About the candidate

As a Project Officer, you need to have the ability to plan work on a daily and
weekly basis, coordinate and organize workload while remaining aware of
changing priorities and competing deadlines; the ability to analyze operating
problems relevant to the job and environment and have problem solving skills.
You need to have positive, collaborative, and constructive attitude to people
and work, have good integrity, accountability and zero tolerance to
corruption, Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (SEA) and a team player; have strong
oral and written communication skills; computer literate with Microsoft office
skills; able to work under pressure, open to change and ability to manage
complexities, positive to critical feedback and differing points of view. You
also need to be committed to We Effect’s mission, vision and values.

Required qualifications

> Holder of a Degree in Animal Science, specializing in Livestock production.
> Minimum of 3 years’ experience in project Management Planning, budgeting, and reporting.
> Experience in monitoring and evaluation of programmes.
> Experience in institutional/organizational development related projects.
> Experience in management of gender related projects and gender mainstreaming.
> Holder of a driver’s license.

Merits

> Technical expertise in dairy production

The employment is a fixed-term contract, in accordance with the project and
performance and will run from April 2021 to June 2023.
