### Job Description
There Is Hope (TIH)*> is a Christian Malawian NGO that offers people living
in and around Dzaleka Refugee Camp opportunities for education, business, and
leadership development. Since 2015, TIH has been running a vocational training
programme that now offers courses in Bricklaying, Carpentry and Joinery,
Plumbing, Welding & Fabrication and Tailoring & Fashion Design. TIH invites
applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the position of
Bricklaying Instructor (Grade K)*> tenable at its office at Dzaleka, Dowa.
Position Bricklaying Instructor (Grade K)
Specific Functions
> • Teaching according to approved syllabus and methodology
• Assessing, recording and reporting on students’ progress
• Preparing schemes of work and lesson plans;
• Organizing teaching and learning materials for the lessons
• Enforcing student discipline
• Maintaining class register and student progress records
• Maintaining available equipment in the section
• Attending to delegated responsibilities
• Enforcing classroom and workshop rules and regulations
Minimum Requirements
• Malawi Advanced Craft Certificate in Bricklaying /City and Guilds Part II
Certificate in Bricklaying /City and Guilds Technician Diploma in Bricklaying
(with red ribbon) /Malawi Tevet Advanced Certificate (LEVEL 3) in Bricklaying,
or equivalent certificates, after successful completion of a recognized
indentured apprenticeship in the profession and Malawi School Certificate of
Education (MSCE).
