Founded in 2000, Global AIDS Interfaith Alliance (GAIA) is fully registered
Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) in Malawi. GAIA’s aim is to provide health
services, targeting prevention, care and support in rural communities in hard
to reach areas affected by HIV/AIDS, TB and malaria. In addition, GAIA is
committed to strengthening the Malawian health system for long-term, through
the GAIA Nursing Scholarship program and Mobile Health Clinics. GAIA Malawi
Headquarters is in Limbe, 4thplot Partridge Avenue, along the Limbe Leaf
Tobacco Company, whose postal address is P.O. Box 51428, Limbe, Malawi. More

are in Mulanje and Phalombe as implementation districts.

Position Resource Mobilization and Communications Officer
Duty Station Limbe Office
Responsible to Country Director
Job Summary
GAIA Malawi seeks to recruit a qualified and experienced Resource Mobilization
and Communications Officer to lead the Organization resource mobilization
efforts as well as acting as a mouth piece for all organization’s projects
related to publications and news.
Key duties and responsibilities
> Develop resource mobilization strategy and action plan to align with the organization strategic plan.
> Identify prospective funding resources and potential partners at national, within the region and internationally.
> Prepare and present resource mobilization proposals to targeted donor and partners that would enable sustainability of implementation of the strategic plan for the organization focusing on activities that would increase funding for the priorities and work plan established.
> Update and implement the GAIA communication strategy in consultation with Management.
> Prepare donor reports in corporation with finance team and submit to donors in a timely manner.
> Ensure visibility of the organization by organizing media events, writing media press release, producing newsletters and develop relations with media in consultation with Management.
> Coordinate with GAIA U.S Head Quarters communication team to write, edit and update GAIA publications, websites, and social media as required by the organization.
> In collaboration with the program team leads, develop and design IEC materials that are in consistent with Ministry of Health communication resources.
> Plan, implement and evaluate communication activities designed to impact positive health outcomes.
> Develop partnership strategy to align with the 2021-2025 Organizational Strategic Plan.
> Develop branding policies as required by donors supporting various projects within the organization.
> Serve as a focal point and facilitate information sharing across the programs.
> Support the organization in desk reviews during proposal and research development.
> Support field teams in developing and submitting success stories and best practices.
Qualifications and Experience requirements.
> Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business, Communication, Journalism, Public Health, or similar qualification with five (5) years’ experience in the resource mobilization and managing partnerships in NGO sector particularly non- profit organization.
> Experience in creating materials for a variety of different types of audiences.
> Experience in corporate communication, including public relations and resource mobilization.
> Experience in project management will be an added advantage.
Requisite Knowledge, Ability and Skills
> Ability to work independently and deliver quality output within deadlines.
> Excellent organization skills with attention to detail and ability to plan in advance with minimal supervision.
> Ability to prepare high quality communication (correspondence, briefs, proposals, reports etc.)
> A self-starter, with strong aptitude and ability to communicate both informally and formally with excellent English command both written and spoken.
> Should have good knowledge of Information Technology
> Ability to work with field offices and program sites to gather stories that show our impact in the communities we serve.
> Demonstrate awareness and understanding of public health issues, gender issues and child rights.
> A good team worker with excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation, marketing and networking skills.
