Holy Family Mission Hospital (HFMH) is under Christian Health Association of
Malawi (CHAM) under the Archdiocese of Blantyre of the Roman Catholic Church.
It is situated in the south eastern part of Malawi, north of Mulanje Mountain
in Phalombe district. It was founded in 1960 by the Medical Mission Sisters of
Holland. Holy Family Hospital is inviting applications from suitably qualified
persons to fill the following vacant positions.
Job Title Nurse Midwife Technician (Grade K)
Responsible to Senior Nursing Sister*>
Responsible for Supervising the provision of nursing care
#### Main Duties
1. Preparing Health tips and talks to patients.
2. Accompanying and assisting doctors during ward rounds, clinics and procedures.
3. Supervising and mentoring junior staff and assessing nursing activities.
4. Providing nursing care to patients as needed.
5. Performing simple procedures in treatment room.
6. Supervising recording of data in relevant registers.
7. Supervising the analysis of information and their dissemination to all relevant stakeholders including submission of weekly reports to the designated officer.
8. Provide quality nursing care using the nursing/midwifery process.
9. Perform activities of daily living for the patients 24
10. Maintain a clean and safe environment for patient care.
11. Use appropriate common skills during nursing care.
12. Administer medication and treatment to patients and clients.
13. Assist in the rehabilitation of patients through application of principles of prevention of deformities, range of motion exercise and body alignment.
14. Adhere to continuous professional development.
15. Document and maintain accurate records of all nursing care activities performed
16. Building therapeutic relationship with patients, guardians and fellow health workers.
#### i). Qualifications
A Diploma in Nursing and Midwifery obtained from a recognized training
institution and must be registered with the relevant professional body.
ii). Experience
At least one year experience.
