#### VACANCY SAFETY OFFICER (1 POST)
Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons of Malawi origin to
fill the above vacancy which has arisen at Nchalo Depot and the successful
candidate will be reporting to the Senior Depot Manager*> .
#### Duties of an Occupational and Safety Health Officer
The duties of Occupational Health and Safety Officer will be responsible for
the overall planning and implementation of
occupational health and safety programs of the workplace and the organization.
Some of the duties of the occupational health and safety officer will include
the following
1\. Design the program
> Design and plan the program that aligns with OSH requirements in order to reduce accidents and other injuries that
are related to work.
> Assign some tasks to other employees to achieve this plan.
2\. Create and Maintain forms
> Keep records of reports regarding the safety and health compliance procedure of the company. This includes
accidents, preventive measures and violations.
3\. Report and Monitor Safety programs
> Evaluate the incidents, accidents and injuries that may happen in the workplace and plan any changes and other
preventive measures.
> Manage the reports needed for the management of the company to maintain and plan for any changes in the future.
4\. Liaison for OSHA
> Make sure that the requirements regarding OHSA is followed by the company for auditing process.
> Act as a liaison between the OSH and the company.
#### Minimum Qualifications
> Must have a minimum of Malawi School Certificate of Education. Those with Diploma Business Administration will have an added advantage.
> Ability to communicate in English, and Chichewa
> Excellent accident/incident investigation and reporting
> Must have at least 3 (three) years proven track record of safety experience and effective reduction of accidents in a busy organization
> Must have excellent knowledge of occupational safety rules and regulations including International Organization for Standardization (ISO) quality standards.
> Must be able to work at odd hours and to strict deadlines.
