Our approach combines embedded mentoring and capability development;
experiential learning through interactive in-person and online training;
executive coaching; curated self-directed learning; and peer exchange across
countries to build highly effective public sector teams.

We are currently supporting government health teams in five countries Ghana,
Malawi, Sierra Leone, Togo, and Zambia, with planned partnerships in 3
additional countries. AMP Health is run by a global team based in
Johannesburg, South Africa and Washington, DC, and has a link to the Aspen
Institute.

## About the role

The Communications Fellow will support AMP Health to enhance its visibility,
amplify partner voices, and communicate more effectively about its work. This
will include establishing a multi-channel communications strategy and
developing and managing communications material. The Fellow will report to the
Deputy Director for Business Development and Strategic Communication, who is
based in Johannesburg, South Africa.

## Key responsibilities

> Develop a communications strategy to guide how AMP Health communicates with a range of stakeholders including our government partners, funders and staff.
> Prepare and manage digital, video, audio and print content.
> Develop brand voice and maintain brand integrity across all platforms.
> Contribute to written communications materials including annual reports, opinion/editorial pieces for news outlets, speeches for senior staff, press releases, and blog posts.
> Work with our program staff who are embedded with government teams in Africa to document and communicate success stories from the field.
> Work with our government partner teams, especially the team leads, to amplify their voices in communicating success stories within their home countries and to international audiences.

## Requirements

> Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing or a related discipline
> 5-plus years of communications, marketing or public relations or related experience
> Experience managing digital content
> Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
> Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency with communications technologies
> Understanding of copywriting, graphic design, layout, and publishing
> Working knowledge of content management systems and website design and management
> Familiarity with social media platforms and social media marketing
> Experience with search engine marketing, Google Analytics, and Google AdWords
> Impeccable copywriting and copy-editing abilities
> Strong leadership track record
> Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills
