THE CATHOLIC ARCHDIOCESE OF BLANTYRE -KUWALA FM RADIO 101.3 MHz
The Catholic Archdiocese of Blantyre has recently acquired a radio
broadcasting licence
KUWALA 101.3 FM is a regional radio station owned and run by the Catholic
Archdiocese of Blantyre It is an evangelization tool meant to supplement the
efforts of the limited number of pastoral workers in the vast Archdiocese
which covers the districts of Blantyre, Chiradzulu, Mulanje, Mwanza, Neno,
Phalombe and parts of Thyolo. It seeks to reach out mainly the rural masses of
this region and the youth Inspired by the motto “Lux Mundi” (Light of the
World) Kuwala 101.3 FM’s broadcasts will encompass the total aspects of human
social life.
Kuwala 101.3 FM will operate as a commercial entity for the church
Kuwala 101.3 FM Radio Station therefore seeks to urgently recruit the
following personnel
Broadcaster (4 Positions)*>
The ideal candidate will have an all-round background in editing and producing
public radio and a thorough knowledge of current events coverage and live
programmes presentation. This position reports to the Senior Broadcaster
If you have some radio experience, an understanding of social media a sense of
humour, and are highly creative and spontaneous, able to develop, produce, and
execute on-air radio programming that is both entertaining and informative to

Responsibilities
Successful candidates will
> Assist with the audio editing process to ensure timings and volumes are within the program’s parameters
> Edit raw interviews and recording sessions to public radio production standards.
> Assist with preparation for interviews with various guests prior to scheduled recording sessions
> Organize and fie interview notes, archive audio and program materials, and perform other administrative talks as needed.
> Assist with contacting and scheduling guests and publicists for recording sessions, including follow-up correspondence
Qualifications
> BSc or B.A. in Journalism, Communications, Broadcasting, or related field
> Diploma holders with outstanding expertise will be considered.
> 2+ years production and sound editing experience.
> Competency in radio editing software, including Adobe Audition.
> Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage time effectively
> Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
> Good public relations skills, particularly interacting with the public over the phone and by e-mail).
