CDH Investment Rank Limited seeks to recruit a suitable candidate for the
position of Manager; International Business.
Background to the organization
CDH Investment Bank Limited is licensed under the Banking Act by the Reserve
Bark of Malawi to provide full banking services. The bank opened for business
on 2nd April 2012 and has banking centres in Blantyre and Lilongwe. Being part
of Continental Holdings Limited which is a vibrant financial services group,
CDH Investment Bank is a unique formation in the financial services sector as
it is designed to provide unique banking solutions in Malawi.
In this regard, CDH I Investment Bank Limited requires a highly skilled,
motivated and innovative person that will fit the corporate ambitions of a
highly creative and innovative bank.
The bank invites applications from suitably qualified individuals for the
position of Manager, International Business, tenable at head office in
Blantyre, Malawi.
Organizational context
The position reports to the Chief Investment Banking Officer (CIBO) in all
respects.
Purpose
The position holder will be required to lead in seeking to grow total client
earnings across the range of products with particular emphasis on Increasing
the total client return while leveraging balance sheets of local and
particularly international Development Finance Institutions (DFIs). The
responsibilities of the Manager will include, revenue generation, managing a
portfolio of defined ‘strategic’ clients, identifying new prospects and
achieving cross selling targets. Quick to spot business enhancement
opportunities, the Manager will take the initiative to develop and improve
business, in line with changing/evolving market dynamics.
Position scope
The manager shall be a senior manager in the Investment Banking Division and
shall
work closely with clients/prospects at senior level.
lead in negotiating transactions including structuring financial details at
deal level.
take ownership to ensure the services offered in the DFI lines/platforms are
performing as expected, and that information is communicated, and problems
resolved in a timely manner.
proactively seek opportunities to engage with DFIs and international banks and
financial institutions looking for ways to provide financial services and
maintaining good relationships.
be an expert and a leader leading teams and clients in all investment banking
aspects including but not limited to corporate financial advisory, project
finance, structured trade finance and international bank relationships, etc.
establish strong international relationships which shall culminate in the
operationalization of structured agreements between the bank and the regional
funders, focusing on local administrative agency relationships, localised
credit lines and capital raising and deal preparation on behalf of the
regional funders.
be assessed on a regular basis based on pre-agreed targets and benchmarks.
maintain comprehensive knowledge of regulatory and legal issues in the
financial industry.

Qualification and experience
A post graduate degree in Business Administration, Banking, Finance, Economics
or equivalent from a recognized university.
Knowledge and experience in excel economic modelling experience including
detailed income statement forecasting, multiple scenario analysis, capital
structure modelling, LBO and merger modeling.
At least 5 years’ managerial experience in investment banking, treasury,
banking or finance with a leading organization.

seniority, level of skills and experience.
