Malawi Red Cross Society (MRCS)

Malawi Red Cross Society (MRCS) is a countrywide humanitarian volunteer
organization and a member of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red
Crescent Societies movement. In Malawi, it was established in 1932 by an Act
of Parliament and works auxiliary to the Government and embodies the
principles of the movement. It focuses on providing Humanitarian Services to
the needy and vulnerable populations. MRCS has more than 260 staff members and
a network of local volunteers in 33 Divisions in all the 3 regions of Malawi.
Its Headquarters is in Area 14, in Lilongwe.

MRCS is now inviting applications of qualified candidates for the following
position

MONITORING & DISTRIBUTION ASSISTANTS

Purpose

Monitoring and Distribution Assistant, will be reporting to the Project
Officer. The key responsibility is to ensure orderly distribution of Relief
Food items and conduct post distribution monitoring on how recipient
households are utilizing relief food.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

> Receive food deliveries and appropriately acknowledge receipt of the same by signing goods delivery notes.
> Ensure that beneficiary distribution lists are in good order prior to every relief distribution.
> Ensure that the distribution place is well secured, there is orderly distribution of relief items and keep completed and signed distribution lists in secure but accessible format.
> Conduct monthly post distribution monitoring to ensure the operation is properly informed and operational decisions are based on key findings of these surveys.
> Generate and submit monthly reports.

Education and Relevant Experience.

> Must have a Diploma in Rural and or Community Development, or any relevant field.
> Experience in data collection, analysis and reporting.
> Experience in organizing and implementing relief distributions.
> Willingness to live and work over the weekend and in rural areas.
