POSITION SENIOR NURSING OFFICER (2 POSTS- BLANTYRE AND LILONGWE)
JOB DESCRIPTION
Malawi Blood Transfusion Service (MBTS) is a Trust that was established to
provide a safe and adequate supply of blood and blood products to meet the
needs of all patents in authorised hospitals in Malawi.
It is committed to meet its objective of collecting, processing and testing
all blood from voluntary non-remunerated blood donors low-risk populations to
international standards, in a cost efficient manner.
The MBTS is seeking suitable candidates for the following post
POSITION SENIOR NURSING OFFICER (2 POSTS- BLANTYRE AND LILONGWE)
JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Nursing Officer will carry out all aspects of blood collection
activities including the selection and care of blood donors, phlebotomy
providing pre and post- donation information, planning blood donations
clinics, organizing arid managing blood donation clinics, training strategy
development, budgeting and developing the blood donor programme.
QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES
•Registered Nurse with a Degree in Nursing from a recognized institution and
at least 3 years work experience in a Central Hospital or equivalent busy
hospital
•Registered with Nurses and Midwives Council of Malawi as a registered nurse
midwife
•Good communication skills
•Ability to build a successful team •Quality awareness and customer care
skills.
