suitably qualified candidates to fill the Position of An Anaesthetic Clinical
Therapist.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
•Undertaking pre-operative assessment for patients who are to go for surgery
•Ordering special tests for patient who are going for surgical operation
before administering anaesthetic drugs
•Administer and Monitor patients under his care during and after surgery.
•Reporting condition changes of patient to surgeon or relevant attendant
•Managing fluid and electrolytes balance during and after surgical operations
•Managing Shock
•Providing emergency anaesthesia in life saving surgeries
•Preparation of departmental budget and present it to management for approval
•Conducting audit of patients care to ensure quality services
•Training juniors in anaesthetic procedures and in how to resuscitate patients
and babies
•Ensuring correct and recording of data in relevant HIMS registers and
instruments.
•Ensuring timely processing of data and dissemination to all relevant
stakeholders including timely submission of HIMS report to the designated
supervisor
•Performing routine monitoring of health indicators and using data in planning
and management of health services.
•Working and attending to OPD patients during times when theatre is not busy
•Performing any other duties assigned to him from time to time.
QUALIFICATIONS
•Diploma in Anaesthesia from a reputable training institution.
•Registered with Medical Council of Malawi.
KNOWLEDGE, ABILITY AND SKILLS •Well conversant with the Health system in
Malawi
•Ability to work independently and in a team
•Effective communication skills
•Problem identification and solving skills.
