Malawi Bureau of Standards (MBS)
The Malawi Bureau of Standards (MBS) is a Statutory Organization established
in 1972 by an Act of Parliament, with a mandate to promote standardization of
commodities and their manufacture, production processing or treatment and to
provide for the verification and calibration of weighing and measuring
instruments; and further to provide for matters incidental to or connected
with standardization.
To beef up its operations, the Malawi Bureau of Standards seeks to recruit the
services of suitably qualified individuals to fill the following vacant posts
tenable at its Head Office in Blantyre.
Post Laboratory Assistant*>
Grade BS 10
Responsible to Senior Laboratory Assistant
No of Posts Four
Duty Station Blantyre, Songwe, Mwanza and Dedza
Main Duties*>
a. Cleaning laboratory apparatus and equipment;
b. Sweeping, mopping and dusting the laboratory
c. Washing and pressing laboratory coats
d. Initiating the dispose off obsolete samples and waste;
e. Preparing samples for physical and chemical testing; and
f. Writing weekly progress reports of their activities.
Qualifications and Experience Required
Applicants for this position should possess a Malawi School Certificate of
Education.
